Shampoo your hair!
Shampooing 101: I just want to talk about the basics.
Right now there is a big push to not shampoo your hair as often, or at all!
Cleansing creams are all the rage and promise to change your hair and make it into the glorious glossy long tamed mane you've always wanted.
While cleansing creams can really work well for certain hair types, this does not mean that you should never shampoo your hair again with traditional shampoo.
1. First step is to talk with your stylist/colorist to find out what products and regimen are best for you. Taking matter into your own hands is never recommended. Would you prescribe yourself antibiotics??
2. Once you have been "prescribed" the correct product regimen you and your salon professional can decide how often you should be shampooing your hair. I always recommend my clients follow an 'every other day' shampoo regime. Whilst most people work out daily I suggest doing a rinse and condition the days you don't actually shampoo your hair.
Note: For clients using cleansing cream (which is not my fave) I strongly suggest using a deep cleansing shampoo like Paul Mitchell's 'Shampoo One' once a week to insure that the hair shaft is not being overly coated.
Shampooing isn't that groundbreaking but is very important for over all scalp and hair health!
